Staff QA Engineer (Vivint, Inc., Provo, UT)
Multiple positions available. Perform test planning and quality delivery of complex features in iOS and Android applications. Develop deep domain knowledge of company products and technologies. Represent QA and provide valuable SME-level inputs to cross-functional meetings. Mentor junior members in the team on various QA processes and best practices including reviewing test cases, guidance on E2E test planning, and task prioritization. Partner with automation team to shift left and implement a strong automation suite for Mobile Apps. Incorporate other's point of view to drive alignment, improve efficiency and increase team productivity. Break down large projects and priorities for junior members to own, work independently, and produce results. Identify potential issues and incorporate contingencies. Consistently and proactively improve the reliability and quality of apps. Identify quality gaps and bring solutions to the table. Play an integral role in the agile software development lifecycle. Exercise solid judgement and make tough calls to ensure quality customer experience. Serve as an advocate for the end user. Ensure complete test coverage of product functionality. Develop and maintain test automation infrastructure. Debug and fix Production issues. Execute, Automate, and maintain test cases. Actively participate in backlog grooming. Participate in production calls and help resolve production issues. Raise issues and questions early in the feature development process. Lead and drive initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional team of Architects, Designers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders. Position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $95,472 - $152,131 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Engineer), Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Analyst), or related occupation/position/job title involving software testing.
Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience performing software testing, API testing, reliability testing, and mobile and web applications testing, to conduct risk analysis to maximize coverage based on risk and time, and debug system level issues and route problems to appropriate teams; 5 years of professional experience using mobile automation frameworks; 5 years of professional experience working with Agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban; 3 years of professional experience performing native apps automation; 2 years of professional experience with API contract testing using tools including ReadyApi, Postman or Selenium; and 2 years of professional experience writing complex test plans and test cases using SQL.
